In 2021, the world’s stainless steel production will be 58.3 million tons, and China’s production will account for 56%

On June 14, the World Stainless Steel Association released the “Stainless Steel Data 2022″ journal, which introduced a series of statistical data of the world stainless steel industry through the analysis of historical data, actual performance and development prospects.

All statistics in the journal are collected by the World Stainless Steel Association Market Statistics Department, showing the development trend of the stainless steel industry worldwide. The main contents are as follows:

World stainless crude steel production

In 1950, the world’s crude stainless steel production was 1 million tons, and by 2021, it will reach 58.3 million tons, with a compound annual growth rate of 5.8%.
In 2005, the proportion of stainless steel in each region was 12.9% in China, 29.7% in Asia (excluding China and South Korea), 9.2% in the United States, 34.8% in Europe, and 13.5% in other countries (Brazil, Russia, South Africa, South Korea, and Indonesia). In 2021, the proportion of stainless steel in each region will be: 56% in China, 13.4% in Asia (excluding China and South Korea), 4.1% in the United States, 12.3% in Europe, and 14.3% in other countries (Brazil, Russia, South Africa, South Korea, and Indonesia).
